Hate is a strong word…

There is a joke circulating about Donald Trump. Weather you support him, despise him, or fee indifferent toward the entire election process I believe you will see the humor. So here goes.
A man gets a chance to speak with God. He tells God that he isn’t impressed with his recent performance. He decries the fact that God has taken his favorite athlete, Mohamed Allie. Then he complains about the fact that God has also taken his favorite rock star, David Bowie. The man thinks for a moment and informs God that his favorite politician is Donald Trump. Ba boom.
I am politically a political. I don’t pick sides. I see the good and bad in trump and I see the bad in Hillary Clinton. Did you get my tongue in cheek there? There is one thing I like about Trump. He speaks his mind, often saying outrageous things that blow my mind, and on national television. This makes me trust him, because he’s just like me. I have no filter and outrageous things come out of my mouth all the time, often before I realize what I am saying. As for Trump, I will take his bloopers over a scripted politician reading from a tele-prompter any day.
The other thing I have noticed about Trump, which has contributed to his success, is his incessant use of social media. The corporate media is all over this, criticizing his “rants” on twitter. Strangely, their criticism never sticks and his poll numbers just keep rising. Trump knows that any publicity is good publicity and his twitter rants keep him on CNN daily. He hasn’t spent hardly any money on attack ads like Hillary is doing. Why would he? He gets free publicity every day, with a few well timed ad hock comments on twitter. His experience in the entertainment world is serving him well.
Trumps success attests to the power of social media and the World Wide Web. There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t receive an email from his election team. Most of the time they are asking for money, but they are in my inbox all the same. I would like to know how they get past my spam filter, but that is a trade secret for the real experts I guess. I’m sure Trump has a social media expert, working in the background, twenty four seven, ensuring his constant presence in as many online venues as possible. I’m also sure he pays this expert handsomely. He knows the value of social media.
As an author, I have come to understand this as well and I take a page out of Trumps playbook. I hired a virtual assistant. At three hundred bucks a month, I don’t pay him as handsomely as Trump would, but I appreciate him just as much. He ensures that I am visible in as many places as possible on the net. He does this while I am sleeping, because he lives on the other side of the world. When I go to bed at night, I do so with peace, knowing that my VA is just starting his work and that my books will be promoted well while I sleep. What more could I hope for. It’s the best of all worlds, in my opinion, and well worth looking into.
